Kerri Walsh, one of the most dominant volleyball players in the history of the sport, is a new mom!

Walsh and her husband, fellow pro volleyball player Casey Jennings, became parents to a baby son, Joseph, on Friday night in L.A., says People.com. The newborn weighed 8 pounds, 10 ounces.

"We could not be more thrilled to welcome Joseph into the world," Walsh tells the site. "It’s the most incredible feeling. We are already so in love with him and it’s such an amazing, special moment for our family."

Kerri Lee Walsh (born August 15, 1978) is an American professional beach volleyball player.

Walsh and teammate, Misty May-Treanor, were the gold medalists in beach volleyball at both the 2004 and 2008 Summer Olympics. They have been called "the greatest beach volleyball team of all time

Kerri Walsh plays professional beach volleyball on the U.S. AVP Tour and internationally on the FIVB World Tour.

On July 23, 2006, Walsh topped $1 million in career earnings.

Walsh won her second gold medal at the summer games in Beijing after having rotator cuff surgery the preceding fall. She discovered kinesiology tape as a way to relieve the pain and support her shoulder without limiting her range of motion.

Casey Thomas Jennings (born July 10, 1975) is an American beach volleyball player. He teams up with Matt Fuerbringer, with whom he has partnered throughout his career.

Jennings, the youngest of five brothers, was born in Las Vegas, Nevada. He received a degree in Sociology from Brigham Young University.

Jennings married Hilary Clark on June 5, 1999 and filed for divorce on November 17, 2000. Reasons for the divorce were not disclosed. On December 4, 2005, he married Olympic Gold Medalist Kerri Walsh in Palm Springs, California, where many AVP players were in attendance. He gave her a ring inscribed with "My Six Feet of Sunshine", a nickname Kerri was given when they first met. On December 3, 2008, Walsh announced to Access Hollywood that she and her husband are expecting their first child, and that she is already 16 1/2 weeks pregnant. She also said that the baby might have been conceived in Beijing. On May 22, 2009, Walsh gave birth to son Joseph Michael Jennings in Los Angeles, California.[1] Jennings and Walsh currently live in Redondo Beach, California.
